London – August 10th 2017
Our last adventure day in the city started fairly early. This was for the simple fact that our 48 hour hop on hop off tour technically expired around 11am. So as long as we got on the bus before the expiring time we could stay on as long as we wanted/needed.
After getting to Paddington station (love the name and yes, there are Paddington bears there) to drop Grandma’s luggage in the storage for a few hours we made it on the hop on hop off bus. We made it with just minutes to spare!
We were on the bus for a couple hours. The weather was better and we could see out the windows. The bus was pretty empty and we all had seats. The audio tour was OK and we learned some more history of London.
We decided to hop off at Tower of London as we hadn’t seen that area of the city yet. We didn’t splurge for tickets but enjoyed some ice cream and took some scenic pictures. The Tower bridge is close and we ended up being able to see the bridge open to allow a passing boat.
Around the area is the Wibbly Wobbly bridge also called the Millennium Bridge. We walked across it and had gorgeous views of Saint Paul’s Cathedral.
After a full day we took Grandma back to Paddington station where she was catching her train to a nearby airport hotel for her morning flight home. We said our goodbyes and crossed our fingers she would find her way to her hotel on her own, haha (she did, and actually arrived to her hotel before we even made it back to our flat!!)
That was one of the longest adventure days. 12 hours we were out exploring. The kids were awesome and my activity app was going nuts with total KM’s walked!!!
