Legoland – August 27th 2017

The day of all days arrived. The one day Lucas was looking forward to most. The one day that we were pumping him up with excitement to try and get him over his nerves being on the trip.

We had an early start and were staying pretty close to the park, the weather was not looking good (a theme so far for us). This was the one and only day we could make this happen. We had things booked and a schedule to keep.

Driving up to the park the rain had started but we tried to turn our pessimism around and decided rain meant less crowds.

Legoland was all that and a bag of chips for our semi adventurous 8 year old. Less thrilling rides made for the younger crowd were perfect for him (he managed to avoid some small coasters still). He loved it. Even if it did downpour on us multiple times throughout the day.

Between hiding under cover where we could for 5-10 minutes to let the rain pass, and riding rides we managed to shut the park down. We were wet, we were cold but we had lot’s of fun.

The girls still had a good time with finding some more adrenaline filled rides. Our favorite for the whole family might have been a ride called Captain Nick’s Splash Battle. We went up against other boats and tried to soak them with water guns as we passed. Great fun! Now I understand why so many people were lining up in their bright yellow rain ponchos. Not to shield themselves from the rain (yet, great idea people. We should have purchased some overpriced plastic ones too 🙂 ) but because this ride can get you soaked!!

Legoland was great. For younger kids it was such a perfect place and for sisters that have to tag along with their younger brother, it was still a pretty fun day.
