London – August 8th 2017
Adventure day #2
We used the hop on hop off bus for the first time. We purchased a 48 hour pass and we hopped on the bus and saw the last bit of the changing of the guard exiting Buckingham Palace. We hopped off near the boat tours (our ticket included a river cruise). We didn’t really have a plan in mind but enjoyed the relaxed time on the harbor cruise. The boats were large and modern and comfortable inside. Outside on deck there were tons of chairs and benches and the tour guide was hilarious.
We stopped at Tower of London to pick up more people and drop off others. Then continued on. We weren’t sure how far the cruise would take us. We ended up in Greenwich. A super cute part of the city that I hadn’t even considered exploring. But there is only so much time. We knew the boat would be turning around soon and didn’t want to get stuck on that end of the city. We booked it to the nearest subway, grabbed lunch and nearly ran back to the boat just in time before they left.
By the time we reached the dock to get off, we realized we had been on the boat for 3 hours!!!! Talk about getting your moneys worth, haha.
We walked into the city more and found Piccadilly and the Theater area along with some fun stores for the kids. The M & M’s store was 4 levels of awesome!! Overpriced awesome that is. We still had fun exploring.
Adventure day #2 done and done!
