Fes to Marrakesh – September 19th – 20th 2017

Our third day in Fes was the best day ever! Kidding. We were completely lazy and stayed at the Riad to swim and laze around. Which could be looked at as the best day ever actually 🙂

The Riad was set up perfectly so the kids were safe and contained on the property and it was only two floors which meant easy wandering around by the kiddos. In the evening as we hung out in the lounge area, the owner played the most perfect music to relax to. With the cool mood lighting lit by Moroccan lanterns and lamps it was wonderfully relaxing!

We had rested up and the next day we were on our way to Marrakesh by train! We booked the regular fair and hopped on. We had an 8 person seating room all to ourselves….but not for long. It soon got much busier on the train and we became crammed in. No more sprawling out and relaxing for us. The 8 hour train ride was great. The scenery was different and the kids were all well behaved. Because it was a train we could stand and stretch our legs when we needed.

Upon arriving at the train station we were greeted with a much more touristy appearance than Fes. Fes is known as the cultural capital of Morocco. Marrakesh is for sure the tourist capital of Morocco. Our taxi took us to our hotel and were happy to see 2 nice large bedrooms with a living room. It was going to be a nice change from Fes where we were 5 beds to a room!
