Bern – August 30th 2017
We drove into Switzerland after Germany. It was our go to place where we needed to make the decision on whether we went west to France and Spain right away, or go south and tour Northern Italy first.
We stayed in a small town in the mountains, in a cute little chalet. Luckily for us the inside was modern and super comfy for our family for the next couple days. Our time was spent relaxing as we hadn’t much of that since we set off from Vancouver. I think we all enjoyed some sleep in time and not having to get up and pack up all of our things the next day.
Mark and I were able to get out for a walk. We went to look for a good place to fly our drone. There were many fields near by, you could hear all the cow bells at all hours and see the cows all over the place.
We still needed to find a more isolated place away from people. As we were staying in a hillside community, I gave up looking and went back to our airbnb. My legs were jelly then. Mark came in a little later and had been successful in finding a place to fly it for a quick treetop view.
There wasn’t much of a town to explore but we did hit the grocery store and restaurant while staying there and to my pleasant surprise, they spoke french!!
After a day of rest we had made our decision about where to travel next: we would be headed to Northern Italy. First we had a very important stop. Still in Switzerland we were going to try an alpine coaster!
